Full job description

The Foyle Food Group are seeking to recruit a Technical Manager to be based at our Foyle Campsie site, Lisahally, Campsie, Londonderry. This is a maternity cover role and a great opportunity to join one of the largest Red Meat processing Companies in the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a competent manager to manage all aspects of the technical function and deliver the quality management system on site. This is a full-time role, reporting to the site General Manager and indirectly to the Group Technical Management team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a site technical function in a modern red meat processing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of the site's Technical, Quality and Food Safety functions.
Ensure the effective implementation, review and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System.
Maintain compliance with BRCGS, customer standards, retailer requirements, regulatory requirements
Lead site HACCP, Food Safety Culture and Quality Improvement programmes.
Manage internal audits, customer audits, third-party certification audits and regulatory inspections.
Drive corrective and preventative actions arising from audits, non-conformances, customer complaints and food safety.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to site management teams and operational departments.
Manage customer relationships regarding quality, food safety and technical compliance matters.
Lead, develop and coach the technical team to deliver high performance and professional development.
Support site initiatives, continuous improvement projects and change management programmes.

Essential Criteria

Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline.
Significant experience in a Technical Management or Senior Technical role within a food manufacturing environment, preferably meat processing.
Demonstrable experience in managing and developing Quality Management Systems
Qualified HACCP Team Leader.
Internal auditor training with extensive experience leading and supporting external audits.
Proven experience managing BRCGS, customer, regulatory and third-party certification audits.
Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, quality standards, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP principles.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence, challenge and support decision-making at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
