Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the food service and hospitality industry, with potential pathways to further culinary or restaurant roles.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and thoroughly
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
Organising storage areas for ingredients and supplies to ensure easy access and safety compliance
Supporting the team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary items are ready and available
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
Restocking supplies and ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout shifts

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety
Willingness to learn new skills related to food handling, cooking, and hospitality operations
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
