Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hoof Trimming Assistant to support our team in providing essential hoof care services for livestock. This role involves assisting with hoof trimming procedures, maintaining equipment. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in animal husbandry and the opportunity to gain experience as a professional hoof trimmer. suitable for individuals interested in agricultural work or veterinary support. The role is paid hourly and requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

Assist with hoof trimming procedures under supervision, ensuring animal safety and comfort
Prepare and maintain tools and equipment, including hand tools and power tools used in hoof care
Support the team in handling livestock safely during trimming sessions
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including cleaning tools and equipment after use
Help with warehouse organisation, including storing supplies and managing inventory of tools and materials
Perform heavy lifting when required, such as moving livestock or equipment around the farm premises

Skills

Previous experience working with live stock
a full UK driving licence
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during daily tasks
Strong organisational skills to maintain a tidy work area and manage multiple responsibilities
Good communication skills as well as good time keeping and willingness to work
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform demanding tasks throughout the day
