Full job description

This position is based on a 5 Days on - 3 Days off shift pattern. 12 hour shifts.

The College is a well established business of over 50 years trading. An expansive site of around 400 aches, both vehicle and foot patrols are a necessity. You will be working with a very experienced team that will train you on the site specifics of this contract to ensure you are prepared for all your newly appointed position will have to offer.

Duties:

- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security and prevent unauthorized access.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a presence.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Investigate and report any suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations promptly.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety and security of the premises.

Experience:

- Previous experience as a security guard or in a related field is preferred but not required. Those who are new to the security industry are always welcome to apply as full training will be given.
- Strong observation skills with the ability to identify potential security risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in any situation.
- Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation.

- Very Good level of spoken and written English is essential as this is a customer facing role and continual public interaction is required.
