Job title: Procurement Category Specialist (Goods and Services)

Duration: Permanent Role

Work Pattern: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Location: Agile Home-Based Worker with travel to corporate offices up to 2/3 per week.

Salary: SCP 39-42 (£52,176 -£56,270) per annum

About the role

Wheatley Group has a strong Procurement Team which supports a wide range of procurement requirements across the Group, to deliver high quality services and value-for-money to our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Specialist to develop, agree and deliver category-specific procurement strategies. Using strategic sourcing, best practice, and strong commercial and contract management skills. A key focus of the role is maximising value from Group-wide spend on corporate services and goods, while ensuring high standards of quality and added value. Wheatley Group is one of the UK’s most dynamic, agile and best-performing housing, care and property management groups.

Owning or managing over 93,700 homes, Wheatley is Scotland’s largest and the UK’s 4th largest housing group and delivers award-winning services to over 210,000 people across 19 local authorities in Scotland. Wheatley employs 2,700 people directly and a further 2,000 as joint owners of one of Scotland’s largest repairs and maintenance companies, City Building (Glasgow). Over the past decade Wheatley’s Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) have created more than 11,000 jobs and 2,000 training places as they seek, with partners, to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion that many of its customers still experience.

The Group now has strategic agreements in place or being developed in six key areas of operation (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries and Galloway, West Lothian, East Lothian, and West Dunbartonshire) and operates within 19 Local Authority areas across central and South-West Scotland.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can develop effective processes and procedures for creating Group frameworks, while maximising commercial opportunities in line with public sector procurement regulations.

The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end procurement process for the Goods and Services category, helping the Group achieve value for money and strong supplier performance.

It is essential that you qualified or working towards a MCIPS qualification and desirable that you are educated to a degree level .
