Music Teacher (Guitar / Contemporary Instruments) – Meopham, Kent
We are a friendly and growing music school based in Meopham, Kent, looking for a skilled and enthusiastic music teacher to join our team from August.
We are currently recruiting for the following teaching hours:
Wednesday daytime: Mid-Kent school-based teaching session in 12.15-1.40pm (20 mins from our music school).
Wednesday evenings: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
This role is ideal for a confident and capable teacher who enjoys working with a range of students, particularly in small group settings, as well as one-to-one lessons.
About the Role
You will be joining a supportive and friendly community of students and teachers, with opportunities for additional hours and growth within the school over time.
The role will involve:
- Teaching guitar, bass and ukulele (and potentially other contemporary instruments depending on ability)
- Delivering engaging and structured lessons to both individuals and small groups
- Supporting students of varying ages and abilities
- Helping students develop strong technical foundations and musical confidence

- We are seeking someone who:
- Has experience teaching music (especially small groups is highly desirable)
- Can play to a high standard on their instrument
- Has a solid understanding of scales, chords, and core music theory
- Can demonstrate clear, efficient, and engaging teaching methods
- Is reliable, friendly, and confident working with children and young people
- Can deliver lessons that are fun and engaging
- Has a positive attitude and open to learning
- Is highly organized with good communication skills
- Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to a positive learning environment
Training & Start Date
Full training will be provided
Start date: August
Some initial training and onboarding will take place in June or July
Contract Details
Full-time, year-round position (excluding two weeks over the Christmas period when the school is closed). The school daytime teaching is term time.
Additional hours may become available over time
Applicants must have their own transport and live within roughly 30 minutes of Meopham in Kent.
