Lattice Visual is a London-based scientific and technical visualisation studio. We create clear, elegant and accurate visual content for science, technology, healthcare and engineering clients.
Our work includes mechanism-of-action illustrations, diagnostic device principle visualization, cellular and molecular process visuals, product renders, explanatory videos, pitch deck visuals, research graphics and technical communication materials.
We are looking for a full -time creative and detail-oriented Scientific Visual Designer to support the development of high-quality 2D and 3D visual content for scientific and technical projects.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex scientific mechanisms, diagnostic principles, device workflows and technical concepts into clear, accurate and visually engaging illustrations for medical, life science, engineering and research-related projects.
- Design 2D mechanism diagrams, process illustrations, infographics, pitch deck visuals, research figures and presentation assets.
- Develop 3D models, product renders, technical visualisations for scientific and technology clients.
- Work from client briefs, sketches, scientific papers, product references and technical materials to produce accurate and well-structured visuals.
- Ensure all visual outputs are consistent with project objectives, brand direction and scientific accuracy.
- Revise and refine designs based on feedback from clients, scientific advisors and the internal team.
- Maintain an organised workflow across multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience
- Background or strong interest in medicine, biomedical science, life sciences, scientific illustration, product design, visual communication, animation, engineering, materials science or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), CorelDRAW, Sketch, Figma, InVision and other relevant design tools.
- Experience with at least one 3D software package such as Blender, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Maya, KeyShot or similar.
- Strong sense of visual composition, typography, layout, hierarchy and scientific storytelling.
- Ability to understand complex information and turn it into clear, elegant and accurate visual content.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to refine work through multiple rounds of feedback.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Preferred but Not Essential
- Experience creating medical illustrations, mechanism-of-action visuals, cellular or molecular process diagrams.
- Experience producing visuals for biotech, medtech, pharmaceutical, engineering, academic or deep-tech clients.
- Basic experience with motion graphics, animation, storyboarding or explanatory video production.
- Familiarity with tools such as PyMOL, ChimeraX, MolView, CAD software or other scientific visualisation tools.
