Are you an IT Support Technician looking for the opportunity to join a thriving, established team and make a lasting, positive impact across the Future Fit Group?
We are looking to give a proactive, adaptable, and passionate individual the opportunity to play a Technology Support role within the Technology team at the Future Fit Group.
Role and Responsibilities:
The System Support Technician provides first‑line IT support across the Group, ensuring users receive timely help with workstations, printing, networks, mobile devices, email, telephony and AV/conferencing equipment. The role manages support cases from first response to resolution, escalating issues when needed.
Key responsibilities include managing user accounts and access permissions, supporting email filtering, anti‑virus and device management, and handling joiner/mover/leaver processes. The role also helps maintain hardware and software by updating asset records, performing routine maintenance, supporting device enrolment and application deployment, and assisting with patching, upgrades and basic backup/restore tasks.
The technician contributes to secure and reliable IT operations by assisting with cybersecurity checks, monitoring alerts, ensuring device compliance and escalating risks. The role communicates IT incidents and maintenance updates clearly to staff, works closely with internal teams and external suppliers, produces clear documentation and supports projects and process improvements.
System Support Technician Duties:
a. Manage support cases from first response through to resolution, ensuring clear communication and effective interaction with affected staff throughout.
b. Provide first-level support for workstations, printing, network access, and mobile devices, escalating issues to the IT partner where required.
c. Support device management activities, including device enrolment, compliance checks and application deployment, where required.
d. Manage user accounts, access permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam, and remote support requirements.
e. Maintain hardware and software asset registers, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date.
f. Perform monthly on-site workstation maintenance routines.
g. Escalate issues in a timely manner where necessary to an appropriate escalation point e.g., line manager, third party IT support.
h. Manage the company’s telephony system and audio-visual and conferencing equipment.
i. Support systems patching, upgrades, and vulnerability management, both during and outside regular business hours where necessary.
j. Participate in the management of the company’s cloud-based systems, on-premises and services.
k. Produce clear and concise documentation for systems and processes in a timely manner.
l. Interact with external suppliers of IT equipment and services.
m. Support cybersecurity operational checks, including anti-virus status, device compliance, vulnerability follow-up, and security alert escalation.
n. Monitor and support basic backup and restore activities, escalating failures or issues where necessary.
o. Support projects and initiatives that maintain software and hardware currency across the company’s infrastructure.
p. Assist with user communications during IT incidents, outages, maintenance windows, and planned changes.
q. Identify opportunities to improve support processes, reduce repeat incidents, and improve the user experience.
r. Support other teams on an ad-hoc basis as directed by the line manager.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
· A strong passion for technology and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference within the IT support function
· Proven experience in Technology Support
· Confident communicator, able to work with people and groups at all levels.
· A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow.
Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of ITIL v3.0 foundation qualification
