About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our specialist Therapy Team at Yarrow Heights School. The role is term time only.
Working under the guidance of our Speech and Language Therapy Lead, you will support the delivery of bespoke speech, language and communication interventions for pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will work collaboratively with therapists, education staff, families and external professionals to help pupils develop their communication skills and reach their full potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working with children with SEN who is looking to further develop their knowledge and skills within a supportive and multi-disciplinary environment.
Requirements
Qualifications
· Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths.
· Good level of computer literacy, including experience using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Experience
· Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
· Experience supporting children with communication and interaction needs is desirable.
· Previous experience working within an educational or therapeutic environment is advantageous.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong observation, organisational and record-keeping skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to build positive and effective working relationships with pupils, colleagues, families and external professionals.

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7-19, local authority funded, SEN day school for children, most of who are able learners with an EHCP and a diagnosis with ASC and associated needs.
