CNC Machinist

Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire

Barvek & Bland is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team in Gainsborough. We manufacture high-quality precision-engineered components for a wide range of industries, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing precision work, enjoys solving engineering challenges, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

The Role

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Select, install, and adjust tooling as required.
Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
Make programme offsets and minor adjustments where necessary.
Ensure all work meets Barvek & Bland's quality standards.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery deadlines.

About You

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, Setter, or Operator.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges.
A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

Experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
CNC programming experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
An engineering or manufacturing qualification, including an apprenticeship, is beneficial but not essential.
