Willow Tree Farm Café is looking for a chef to prepare food to the head chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu, as well taking the opportunity to express their own creativity with special menus, desserts and baking etc.
Willow Tree Farm Café can seat 120 covers when at full capacity with outdoor dining, our customers expect high quality restaurant style food in a fast café environment.
Working at Willow Tree Farm Café restaurant gives the opportunity to work in a busy yet calm and professional kitchen. A typical shift is 7am to 5pm. The café is open Tuesday to Sunday 9am to 5pm, serving quality home cooked breakfast, lunch, cakes and Sunday roasts.
The right candidate needs to be available to work weekends on a shared rota basis. There it sometimes the need for evening work for functions although this is rare. The cafe also holds a fish and chip night once a month and a pizza night once a month. Candidates will be required to work these on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Assist with menu planning
- Bake high volume of goods
- Answer, report and follow head or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
- Working alongside KP’s with general and deep kitchen cleaning
Required Skills:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Calm, flexible and committed
Applicants will be required to attend at least one paid trial shift.
