Classic & Modified Car Technician
We’re looking for an experienced technician to join our small, independent workshop specialising in classic, modified and enthusiast vehicles.
This is not a dealership role, a production-line workshop, or a corporate environment. We work on interesting cars for passionate owners and tackle a wide variety of restoration, modification and repair projects.
Based in a quiet rural location, you’ll be part of a small team with the freedom to take ownership of projects and solve problems properly.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be a skilled mechanic with experience working on older vehicles and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
Work may include:
● Mechanical repairs and servicing
● Engine rebuilds and performance upgrades
● Engine and drivetrain conversions
● Suspension, steering and braking upgrades
● Fault diagnosis and problem solving
● Restoration work
● Rust repairs
● Welding and fabrication
● Working around obsolete or hard-to-source parts
● General workshop duties
No two weeks are the same, and the successful candidate will be comfortable turning their hand to a variety of tasks.
Essential Skills
● Strong mechanical knowledge and experience
● Experience working on classic, modified or specialist vehicles
● Ability to work independently and manage jobs through to completion
● Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
● High attention to detail
● Pride in workmanship
Desirable Skills
● MIG/TIG welding
● Fabrication experience
● Paint and bodywork experience
● Engine building experience
● Electrical fault finding and wiring
● Motorsport or performance vehicle experience
