At Masonhouse Manufacturing, we’ve been crafting beautiful, design-led kitchens for over 40 years under our two brands, Callerton and Brown & Hood. As a family-run business, we care deeply about the detail—because we know it’s the finish that people see, feel, and remember.
We’re looking for a Polisher to join a small team working in our paint shop and finishing department in Sunderland. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in exceptional standards and wants to push the boundaries of what great finishing can look like.
What you’ll be doing:
- Finishing joinery products using paint, stain and lacquer both by hand and with automated machinery
- Taking ownership of finish quality-ensuring every piece meets our standards for consistency, durability and visual excellence
- Helping to drive improvements in polishing techniques, processes and efficiency
- Collaborating with colleagues across the factory to ensure a smooth flow from production through to finishing
- Supporting other departments when needed - we work as one team
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in polishing, finishing or spray operations within a furniture, joinery or manufacturing environment
- An exceptional eye for detail and a genuine pride in high-quality finishes
- Strong understanding of materials, coatings and finishing techniques
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset—someone who looks for better ways of doing things
- A reliable, flexible team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Opportunity to shape and evolve:
This role isn’t just about maintaining standards-it’s about raising them.
We’re particularly interested in someone who can bring fresh thinking to the department, including:
- Experience or interest in transitioning to water-based paint systems
- Exploring and testing new finishes (e.g. metallics, specialist effects)
- Continuously improving both quality and efficiency through smarter processes
What’s in it for you?
- A permanent, full-time role in a stable and growing family business
- To be part of a skilled and committed team who take pride in their work
- Opportunities to bring new ideas to life and make a visible impact
- The satisfaction of seeing your craftsmanship in finished kitchens across the UK
If you’re someone who cares about doing things properly, enjoys the detail and wants to be part of a team delivering truly exceptional finishes—we’d love to hear from you.
