Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative with a Counterbalance Forklift Licence to join our logistics team in Sunderland.

The role will primarily involve picking and packing orders, along with operating a counterbalance forklift when required. The successful candidate will need to be flexible with start times, as shifts can begin as early as 2:00am.

Responsibilities

Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
Prepare goods and orders for dispatch.
Operate a counterbalance forklift safely when required.
Load and unload goods and materials using the forklift.
Move and organise stock within the warehouse.
Ensure goods are correctly stored, labelled, and prepared for dispatch.
Check orders for accuracy and report any discrepancies or damaged goods.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
Keep the warehouse and work areas clean, organised, and safe.
Follow all health and safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
Carry out stock checks and assist with inventory management.
Use a warehouse management system (WMS) where required.
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements

Previous warehouse, picking and packing experience is preferred.
Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence/Certificate is required.
Experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse environment.
Good attention to detail and accuracy when picking and packing orders.
Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and working on your feet for extended periods.
Good organisational skills and ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
Flexibility to work early morning starts, including shifts starting at 2:00am.
Ability to work Monday to Friday.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday

8-hour shifts

Start times can vary between approximately 02:00am and 04:00am, so flexibility is essential.
