Build the Operational Engine Behind a Growing Private Tutoring Organisation
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Operations to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in the next stage of our growth.
This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop the operational functions that sit at the heart of our success, including recruitment, educational quality, safeguarding, compliance and service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you’ll ensure operational excellence supports sustainable growth while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, quality and learner outcomes.
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to maintain processes.
We’re looking for a leader who can build capability, improve performance and create the operational infrastructure needed to support an ambitious and growing organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the operational function across recruitment, educational quality, compliance and safeguarding
- Build scalable systems, processes and performance frameworks
- Ensure operational capacity remains ahead of demand
- Drive improvements in service delivery, quality assurance and operational performance
- Lead workforce planning, tutor recruitment and capacity management
- Oversee safeguarding, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Use data, KPIs and operational reporting to drive decision-making
- Work closely with the Commercial Director and Head of Sales to support growth
- Remove operational barriers that impact service delivery and commercial performance
- Contribute to strategic planning and leadership decision-making
What We’re Looking ForEssential
- Senior operations leadership experience within SEND, education, alternative provision, social care or another regulated environment
- Experience managing multiple teams or operational functions
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance and quality assurance
- Experience improving operational performance and building scalable processes
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how operations impacts growth
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Data-driven approach to performance management
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
- DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) experience
- QTS, SENCO qualification or equivalent educational leadership experience
- Experience working with Local Authorities, EHCPs, Alternative Provision or SEND services
- Ofsted inspection experience
- Experience within a growing or scaling organisation

Location
