Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Bricklayer Apprentice to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in masonry and related trades, providing a valuable pathway into the building industry. The successful candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in various bricklaying and masonry tasks, gaining practical skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals eager to develop their craft and pursue a career in construction.

Duties

Assist with laying bricks, blocks, and stones under supervision, ensuring accurate placement according to specifications.
Prepare work areas by mixing mortar and setting up scaffolding or other necessary equipment.
Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels to cut and shape bricks or stones as required.
Operate power tools safely for cutting, grinding, or drilling masonry materials.
Support the team with basic carpentry tasks related to formwork or temporary structures.
Assist with site preparation, including organising materials and maintaining a clean work environment.
Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Requirements

Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and masonry techniques is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial.
Must be a driver as the role will require travel to site daily.
Ideal candidate will hold, Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE 4 and above in Maths and English. This is not mandatory, applicants without these exemptions may have to complete Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship.
Interest in bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, welding, or related trades preferred.
Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual tasks throughout the day.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
A proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
No prior experience necessary; training will be provided on-site by experienced professionals.

Pay: From £8.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
