Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function and play a key role in supporting the future direction of the business.
Reporting directly to the Board, this is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making while ensuring strong financial control, governance and commercial performance.

The Role
As Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the finance function and provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders across operational, commercial and support functions to ensure robust financial management and informed business decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting
- Lead the day-to-day finance function
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Manage month-end and year-end processes
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities
- Monitor business performance against budget and forecast
- Present financial results and business insights to senior stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Provide financial analysis and management information to support decision-making
- Support long-term business planning and growth initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
- Develop meaningful KPI reporting and performance analysis
- Support investment decisions and business cases
Treasury, Cash Flow & Risk Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital performance
- Monitor liquidity and funding requirements
- Maintain relationships with banks and financial partners
- Support financial risk management and governance activities
- Maintain effective financial controls and business procedures
Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Review and improve financial processes and controls
- Support finance systems enhancements and digital transformation initiatives
- Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency and business insight
- Work closely with operational teams to strengthen commercial performance
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and develop the finance team
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Support financial awareness across the wider organisation
- Build strong relationships across all departments
Compliance & Business Support
- Support governance, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Maintain relationships with auditors, insurers and professional advisers
- Assist with policy development and business administration activities
- Support senior leadership with people-related compliance matters where required

What We’re Looking ForExperience
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and business leaders
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, distribution or industrial sectors would be advantageous but is not essential
