Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar panel systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while developing technical skills in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with electrical systems and mechanical work is advantageous, and a proactive attitude is essential for success.

Responsibilities

Safely install solar panel systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators to prepare sites and secure mounting structures.
Conduct site assessments to determine optimal positioning of solar panels and ensure structural integrity.
Perform electrical connections, including wiring panels and inverters, adhering to electrical codes and standards.
Assist with the assembly of mounting hardware using welding techniques when necessary.
Conduct system testing post-installation to verify operational functionality and troubleshoot any issues.
Maintain a clean and organised worksite, ensuring all safety protocols are followed throughout the installation process.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within scheduled timeframes.

Qualifications

Level 3 NVQ Qualified Electrician
Proven experience with electrical systems or mechanical work; prior exposure to solar or renewable energy projects is preferred.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators.
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical wiring practices.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals accurately.
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials safely.
Valid UK driving licence is desirable for site travel purposes.
