Registered Dental Nurse/Trainee/Receptionist

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager daily duties will include:
o Work closely with the dentist in a professional and appropriate manner
o Provide chair side assistance during all dental procedures
o Update computer records and taking notes
o Cleaning surgeries to a high level, maintaining strict cross infection controls
o Preparing instruments and materials during treatments
o Assisting with Patient Chaperone
o Carry out reception and administrative tasks where required

You must have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, organised and a team player. We are a private practice. In our team we have 8 nurses, and 5 dentists. We also provide Invisalign and Implants.
Responsibilities and Duties
To assist the clinician as required, ensuring surgeries are run smoothly, following all policies and guidelines written by the practice and governing bodies.
Clinical Duties
Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice’s health and safety, infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions
- Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order
- Provide chair-side assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
- Ensure the care and welfare of patients
- Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed
- Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies
- Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSHH, mercury handling, infection control, waste disposal etc.
- Develop radiographs
- Complete laboratory request forms, keep records of work sent, received and fitted
Administration and other
- Ensure adequate stock of materials and other items within the surgery
- Ensure computer/written records are accurately maintained and securely stored
- Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications
- Attend and participate in practice meetings
- Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice (including the duties and tasks of receptionist as required)
- Undergo training as may be required to develop skills and abilities
- Attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies and cross infection control
- Act in accordance with the practice and GDC rules and code of conduct
- Candidates must be GDC registered or at minimum, have one years’ experience, or can be on a recognized course and working towards registration.
- Experience in Software of Excellence’s Exact is desirable but not essential.
