24 hours per week£28,080 – £30,160 per annum pro rata

Help shape the future of Whitstable's community hub

Do you enjoy bringing people together?

Can you spot opportunities, build partnerships and create events that make communities stronger?

The Umbrella Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Programme & Events Manager to develop an exciting programme of community, creative and cultural activity while helping increase venue hire and income that supports our long-term sustainability.

This is an opportunity to make a real impact. You'll help shape the Centre's programme, develop relationships with local organisations and artists, coordinate events and ensure the Centre remains a vibrant, welcoming place for people of all ages.

Working alongside our Operations Manager, Trustees, staff, volunteers and hirers, you'll balance commercial opportunities with our charitable mission, ensuring that income helps make activities accessible for everyone.

What you'll be doing as Programme & Events Manager

Planning and delivering a varied programme of events and activities
Developing venue hire and commercial opportunities
Building partnerships with community organisations, artists and local businesses
Promoting the Centre through marketing, social media and community engagement
Coordinating event delivery from planning through to evaluation
Monitoring attendance, income and impact
Helping identify new opportunities that support the Centre's future

We'd love to hear from you if you:

Have experience in events, programme or venue management
Enjoy building relationships with a wide range of people
Are creative, organised and commercially aware
Have strong marketing and communication skills
Are passionate about community development
Enjoy working in a fast-moving environment where no two weeks are the same
Experience of managing licensed premises, including holding a Personal License would be an advantage
