Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable LGV/ HGV Technician, on a part time basis (Any 2 days per week). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-maintained fleet operation where quality, safety, and teamwork are valued.
To be successful in this role you will be a good communicator able to influence at all levels, be highly organised and driven to achieve high levels of customer and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance inspections (PMIs) in line with DVSA standards
- Diagnose and repair vehicle defects efficiently
- Complete defect repairs to a high standard i.e. engine replacements, head gasket repairs skimming etc
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring full compliance
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Identify and report any additional faults or potential issues
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
- Minimise vehicle downtime through efficient working practices
Requirements
- Proven experience as an LGV/ HGV Fitter, HGV Technician, or similar role - our fleet compromises predominantly of LGV's
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with DVSA regulations and MOT preparation standards
- Ability to diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and manual inspection
- Experience working with a mixed fleet (e.g. vans, lorries, trailers, tower lights etc)
