Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, tenants, contractors and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, preventing loss, and responding effectively to emergencies. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential. The Security Officer will play a vital part in maintaining a secure environment through vigilant observation and prompt action.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and detect suspicious behaviour
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and reporting theft or vandalism
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations, including medical incidents, by administering first aid if necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of incidents, observations, and security activities for record-keeping purposes
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security protocols
- Assist visitors, contractors, tenants and staff with access control and provide directions when required
- Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or investigations
- Deal and assist with anti-social behaviour in the Shopping Centre and the Yards
- Control entry to the Service yards via barrier intercom
Skills
- Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles in a retail environment is advantageous
- Proficiency and license in operating CCTV systems and other security monitoring equipment
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and the ability to respond calmly in emergency situations
- Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally
- Organised with the ability to complete detailed reports accurately

Pay: £13.62 per hour

- SIA Security Guard Licence (SG) (required)
- SIA CCTV Operator Licence (Public Space Surveillance) (required)
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence (DS) - Desirable (preferred)
