Accounts Executive / Finance Assistant
(Group Role – Multi-Company Support)
Role Overview
An opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Executive to support the financial operations of a growing group of companies. The role will combine hands-on bookkeeping, financial reporting, and direct support to the Director in a fast-paced environment, offering clear progression for the appropriate candidate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Bookkeeping & Financial Administration
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies
- Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, receipts, and payments
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Carry out bank reconciliations and ledger management
- Ensure all transactions are correctly recorded and up to date
2. Xero & Systems Management
- Daily use of Xero accounting software for all financial entries
- Manage bank feeds, reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting
- Maintain clean, accurate data within accounting systems
- Support& Lead implementation of improvements and automation
3. Financial Reporting & Cashflow
- Assist in preparing:
- Monthly management accounts
- Cashflow forecasts
- Profit & loss reports
- Monitor financial performance and highlight issues
- Support reporting for Directors across the group
4. Budgeting & Business Support
- Assist with annual budgets and ongoing financial planning
- Track expenditure vs budget and report variances
- Provide financial data to support business decisions
5. Director & Group Support
- Act as a key support function to the Director across multiple companies
- Assist with:
- Financial analysis
- Ad hoc reporting
- Business administration tasks
- Coordinate information between departments and group entities
6. External Accountant & Advisor Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact with external accountants and advisors
- Provide accurate financial data for:
- Year-end accounts
- VAT returns
- Tax submissions
- Assist with audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Ensure all external reporting deadlines are met
- Support communication between the business and external finance professionals
7. General & Operational Support
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams on financial queries
- Support audits and compliance processes
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate record-keeping
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes

Working Pattern
- The role can be offered on a 3–5 day per week basis, depending on the experience and suitability of the candidate
- Flexibility will be considered for the right individual, while maintaining the needs of the business
Experience Level

- 2–4 years in a finance / accounts role

Pay: £26,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
