Overview

Class 1 driver wanted. (C+E) The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes throughout the UK and EU. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and experience in commercial transportation to contribute to a dynamic organisation committed to excellence.

Duties

4-5 days per week. No weekends
Operate a tractor unit with a curtain side trailer in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
Deliver goods to specified locations promptly and efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of deliveries.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
Secure cargo appropriately to prevent movement or damage during transit.
Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations during all aspects of driving and cargo handling.
Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring safe handling practices are followed.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement.
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles.
Prior experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS systems or maps, demonstrating good route planning skills.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
