Your next role
The role includes managing the council’s leasehold and Right to Buy services as well as the accounts team responsible for carrying out creation and maintenance of financial, service charge, tenancy, garages, and leasehold data on the housing management system. This includes amending tenancies, housing rent accounts, the movement of monies between accounts. Working strategically to deliver service improvement increasing value for money and provide a service that meets both internal and external customer perceived aspirations.
What You'll Do
The Accounts Housing Manager will lead and coordinate a specialist housing team ensuring that the Council complies with regulation for leaseholders and all other related legislation, guidance and contractual agreements across our leasehold properties. Acting as the operational lead for all leasehold and Right to Buy, the postholder will ensure strict adherence to statutory obligations, and good practice. You will also be responsible for the recharge service, ensuring recharges are correct, ensuring adequate and fair payment recovery processes are in place.
This role involves planning and overseeing the teams, managing resources, and monitoring performance to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
What You'll Bring
- An eye for detail with strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Can engage positively with people from all walks of life.
- A strong passion for social housing and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in housing management and dealing with tenant / leasehold service charges.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Right to Buy and section 20 consultations.
- Excellent numeracy skills who is confident in applying formula’s and is methodical when it comes to checking figures / calculations for accuracy.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- A great team player who is great at collaborative working.
- Confidence in the use of Microsoft Excel and housing management IT systems.
- A full UK driving licence (or ability to travel between sites as required).
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
The ability to travel throughout the Borough will be required and access to a vehicle to be able to support sessions and events around the borough.
The team operates a hybrid working model with all practitioners expected to be in the office for a minimum of 2 to 3 days per week.
