Our Estate Services team plays a vital role in building trust, maintaining clean and safe neighbourhoods, handling environmental issues and supporting residents to feel proud of where they live. As a Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of that mission—leading by example, inspiring your team, working closely with other teams and services to ensure our neighbourhoods are places people are proud to call home.
You’ll be the driving force behind a team, ensuring they have the guidance, resources, and motivation to make a real difference every day whether that be working in supported housing schemes, sheltered housing schemes or in the community keeping neighbourhoods clean and safe and getting new tenancies clean, ready for letting so the incoming tenant feels welcomed into their new home.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Cleaners, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
- Coordinate schedules, allocate resources, and respond to priority incidents efficiently and effectively; working closely with other Housing Teams and services.
- Handle resident concerns with empathy, professionalism and a solution-focused approach. Respond to service requests, complaints and enquiries from residents, elected members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on team performance, identifying training needs and opportunities for improvement. Lead on recruitment, performance management in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with corporate priorities, and compliance is met with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, health and safety legislation and safeguarding protocols are followed.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role with the ability to lead change, motivate teams and drive performance improvement.
- Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety at Work, in particular manual handling at work, COSHH, RIDDOR and PPE.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to engage positively with people all walks of life.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Confidence in use of Microsoft and digital tools and managing administrative tasks efficiently.
- A full UK driving licence (or ability to travel between sites as required).
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
The ability to travel throughout the Borough will be required and with access to a vehicle.
The team operates a hybrid working model with all practitioners expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
