On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Assistant Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so requires 4 days a week in Corsham plus additional travel to Cumbria for 2-3 days once a month.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Assistant Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

Supports the planning, delivery, and control of projects that contribute to Defence capability, infrastructure, equipment procurement, digital transformation, and operational objectives.
Work alongside Project Managers, Programme Managers, commercial teams, engineers, and military stakeholders.
Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones.
Coordinate project activities and ensure progress aligns with agreed objectives.
Support resource planning and allocation activities.
Help manage dependencies and monitor project timelines.

Essential Skills

Experience of auditing assets and maintenance logs across a busy team
Supporting the overall team, dependency management support
Stakeholder engagement at all levels which is Internal staff
Strong self starter with a proactive approach

Desirable Skills

MOD experience would be highly beneficial
Quality Assurance auditing experience would be highly beneficial
