About the role
Do you want to make a real difference by supporting tenants to sustain their homes and thrive in their communities?
This is your chance to join North Northamptonshire Council’s Housing Management Service at a time of real change and investment. We are reshaping our services to be more visible, proactive and closer to tenants – and our Housing Tenancy Support Officers are a vital part of this transformation.
As a Housing Tenancy Support Officer, you’ll work directly with tenants who need extra help, providing guidance, practical support and links to other services. You’ll play a key role in preventing homelessness, tackling tenancy issues early, and helping tenants feel secure and supported in their homes.
You will be part of a service that is:

What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for providing support that helps tenants maintain successful, sustainable tenancies. Your work will include:

Building positive relationships with tenants who need extra support.

Assessing needs and putting tailored support plans in place.
-
Helping tenants with budgeting, benefits and financial advice to reduce arrears and prevent crisis.

Working closely with support services, health professionals and community organisations to link tenants to the right help.

Supporting vulnerable tenants, including those facing domestic abuse, safeguarding issues or mental health challenges.

Helping tenants understand their rights and responsibilities, and tackling issues before they escalate.

Promoting independence, resilience and community connections.
