About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance activities, fault finding, and supporting continuous improvement projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant and machinery.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and basic electrical faults.
- Install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Assist with machinery upgrades, modifications, and installation projects.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and support production teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and equipment manufacturers when required.
- Order engineering spares and materials to support maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and performance.
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering.
- Proven experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Due to the location of the site, candidates must hold a valid full UK driving licence and have access to reliable transport.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience working with pumps, pipework systems, and compressed air systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- MEWP (Cherry Picker/Scissor Lift) certification.
- Experience within food manufacturing, print, plastics, recycling, process, or heavy manufacturing industries.

Pay: £30,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
