Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire - 100% office-based role

What you'll be doing
You'll become part of our client accounting team, supporting a portfolio of growing businesses across a wide range of industries.
Working closely with business owners and your colleagues, you'll help keep our clients' finances accurate, organised and up to date, giving them the financial visibility they need to make confident decisions.
No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices.
- Posting bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations.
- Reconciling control accounts.
- Preparing and submitting VAT Returns.
- Processing journals and month-end adjustments.
- Preparing and processing Payroll
- Maintaining accurate digital accounting records.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management information.
- Identifying anomalies and resolving bookkeeping queries.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and answer day-to-day questions.
- Assisting with onboarding new clients onto cloud accounting software.
- Helping clients improve their financial processes through better use of technology.
- Supporting the wider team to deliver the exceptional service CASS is known for.
What we're looking for

The right person will enjoy helping people, be naturally organised and take pride in producing accurate work.
You're likely to have:
- A few years experience in bookkeeping or digital accounting.
- A good understanding of VAT.
- Experience preparing VAT Returns.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Confidence using technology and cloud-based accounting systems.
- The ability to manage your workload and prioritise effectively.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
You'll have good experience using Xero, Dext, Apron, and knowledge of Engager, Syft, Xenon and Microsoft Office 365 would be an advantage, although full training will be provided for the right person. We're looking for someone who's excited by technology and enjoys finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.
AAT qualification at level 3 or above, or working towards level 3 would also be an advantage.
