Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diamond Drilling & Sawing Operative to join our team. This role involves operating specialised equipment to perform precise drilling and cutting tasks across various construction and renovation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner, contributing to the successful completion of diverse building projects. Prior experience in construction-related trades is advantageous, and a proactive attitude is essential for success in this hands-on role.
Duties
- Operate diamond drilling machines and saws to cut through concrete, stone, brick, and other materials with precision.
- Prepare work sites by setting up equipment, ensuring safety measures are in place, and organising materials needed for operations.
- Measure and mark areas requiring drilling or cutting, ensuring accuracy according to project specifications.
- Maintain and inspect tools and machinery regularly to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Assist with site preparation, including handling hand tools and power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, roofers, or painters as required for project completion.
- Complete documentation related to work performed and report any issues or hazards promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
- Knowledge of masonry, carpentry, roofing, plumbing, electrical work, or welding is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and site managers.
- Flexibility to adapt to different project requirements and work environments.
