About the Role
To deliver high-quality coaching sessions that create enjoyable and inclusive experiences for players of all ages and abilities whilst supporting participation growth and player development.
The Coach plays a key role in delivering the Smash Padel coaching programme, supporting player retention and helping create a welcoming environment that encourages players to return and develop their skills
Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesCoach Delivery
- Deliver coaching sessions in line with Smash Padel programme standards.
- Create engaging, safe and enjoyable coaching environments.
- Adapt coaching delivery to suit different ages, abilities and learning styles.
- Support player development and progression through the coaching pathway.
- Deliver individual and group coaching sessions as required
Player Experience
- Build positive relationships with players and customers.
- Create welcoming and inclusive coaching environments.
- Encourage player retention through excellent coaching experiences.
- Promote participation opportunities across Smash Padel programmes.
- Act as an ambassador for the Smash Padel brand.
Programme Support
- Support the delivery of coaching programmes, camps, events and competitions.
- Assist the Head Coach with programme development and delivery.
- Contribute ideas that improve participation and player engagement.
- Support venue activities and community initiatives where require
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure all coaching sessions are delivered safely.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health & safety and company policies.
- Maintain coaching equipment and resources.
- Complete required administration accurately and on time.
Continuous Development
- Maintain coaching qualifications and CPD requirements.
- Participate in coaching observations, reviews and development activities.
- Seek opportunities to improve coaching knowledge and skills.
- Support a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
QualificationsEssential
- Relevant coaching qualification in Padel, Tennis or another participation sport.
- Good standard of IT literacy.
Desirable
- First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding qualification.
ExperienceEssential
- Experience coaching individuals and groups.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience working within a team environment.
Desirable
- Experience within padel, racket sport, leisure or hospitality.
- Experience coaching individuals or teams including Children.
- Experience supporting participating programmes and events
Knowledge & SkillsEssential
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for coaching and player development
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Knowledge of long-term athlete development principles.
- Understanding of participant growth and customer retention.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare best practice.
