Summer Internship Opportunity: International Golf Research, Marketing & Relationship Development
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded student for a unique summer internship focused on researching, developing, and building international relationship and sales opportunities for two historic Scottish golf clubs – Scotscraig Golf Club and Forfar Golf Club.
Running from June through August (20–25 hours per week), this project will focus on identifying golf clubs, country clubs, and relevant organisations—predominantly in the United States—that have historic, geographic, personal, or cultural links to Scotscraig, Forfar, or the surrounding area.
These links may range from direct founder or alumni relationships to broader heritage or cultural connections. The core objective is to build a qualified, strategic marketing and sales database that can be used to strengthen international relationships, increase awareness, and develop long-term commercial opportunities for both clubs.
For example, one of Scotscraig’s founders reportedly emigrated to the United States and became an influential figure in Connecticut golf, creating potential pathways to prestigious American clubs and networks.
Core Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will research and identify relevant overseas golf clubs, country clubs, and associated venues, uncovering connections to Scotscraig, Forfar, and the wider region. This work will support the creation of a structured CRM database and strategic communications framework designed to improve visibility, engagement, and direct sales opportunities with international audiences.
