Full job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest level of food quality and customer satisfaction. If you have a passion for food, excellent guest service skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Food preparation and cooking well balanced and nutritious meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment
- Stock inventory and rotate food supplies as needed
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Follow all food safety and infection control guidelines
- Provide excellent service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen and healthcare setting is essential

- Food Hygiene training
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

To work as part of a team, led and directed by the catering manager and head chef, preparing meals and drinks to residents, cleaning and tidying the kitchen and dining room, washing up and general ad hoc kitchen duties.

You will recognise the need to promote positive mealtime experience by respecting the privacy, dignity, independence, and fulfilment for all residents, treating everyone with respect.

To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room at all times.

You will be required to respect confidentiality at all times.
