Quality Control Technician

Context
We are currently looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician for a fixed 12-month period to work as part of our QC Team at our Specialty Polymers and Resins business based in Newton Aycliffe. You will be responsible for carrying out quality control tests to ensure safe, efficient testing to meet the business quality and volume requirements.

The Specialty Polymers and Resins business is a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of acrylic polymers and resins. We work with some of the biggest players in the medical, dental, costings and adhesives industries and have a proven track record of developing innovative solutions and tailoring the design and production of acrylic polymers.
Your responsibilities
- Carry out quality control tests in accordance with procedures and standards, to ensure safe, efficient testing to meet the business quality and volume requirements.
- Carry out statistical reviews of QC data to highlight and address quality issues.
- Carry out problem solving, repair and calibration of analytical equipment in the Laboratory.
- Maintain a high level of equipment availability, accuracy and cleanliness.
- Highlight deficiency in laboratory methods and laboratory systems and propose solutions and implement via site standards.
- Maintain own knowledge to provide technical advice to internal teams.
- Maintain own skills and training to ensure maximum flexibility within the QC team, where necessary complete training to take on new skills.
- Contribute to team based projects, audits, incident investigations etc., to ensure delivery is to target (time and quality).
- Manage and minimize laboratory waste.
Your profile
- Ideally you will have attained a relevant science degree (e.g., Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry) and a suitable industry experience.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with others.
- Effective prioritisation & time management skills.
- It would be advantageous to have experience of working with Laboratory systems and in a Quality Control related role.
