Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to provide high-quality nursing support in a veterinary setting. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and excellent communication skills to ensure the best outcomes for our patients and their owners.
Duties
- Provide nursing care to animals in accordance with veterinary protocols and standards.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures.
- Perform animal restraint and catheterisation as needed.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct laboratory tests and assist in diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Monitor vital signs and overall health of animals during recovery.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and wellness practices.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the clinic environment using aseptic techniques.
- Working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm
Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry.
- Comfortable with routine anaesthesia and inpatient care
- Good communicator with clients & colleagues
- Experience in handling various species.
- Knowledge of dental terminology related to veterinary care.
- Skills in laboratory procedures and critical care for animals.
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and basic grooming practices.
