We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to assist with the testing of samples and perform work as allocated to high standards whilst adhering to our reputable turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities
To perform work to a high standard within our reputable turnaround times and to inform the Team Leader
To inform the Team Leader of any problems encountered in analysis, including possible malfunctioning of equipment
To inform the Team Leader in advance if agreed deadlines for work completion are unlikely to be met
To inform the Team leader when additional stocks of chemicals, kits and consumables need to be placed on order
To ensure completion of all necessary documentation/records - temperature monitoring, pipette checks, combi start-up and shutdown, pilot definition sheets, relevant Elisa paperwork etc
To ensure that all samples received are entered onto the laboratory management system and
To ensure samples are transferred to their correct locations and complete sample transfer sheets
To ensure that all laboratory areas are clean and clutter free at all times
To be able to work both within a team as well as using own initiative
To be computer literate, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
To have a flexible approach to allocated duties
To ensure all communication surrounding laboratory results is sent to the correct people within an agreed timescale and in a professional format
Candidate Profile

Good understanding of the English language
Practical with a committed and diligent working style
A clear communicator who is professional and has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Highly organised with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

4 on/4 off shifts
8.00am - 8.00pm (Average 38.6hrs PW)
