Make a real difference, every day
We're currently recruiting across our housing team following a combination of internal and external progression. We're proud that colleagues continue to develop and progress in their careers, and we're excited to welcome new colleagues who share our values and passion for supporting recovery.
At TACT, you'll be managing our recovery housing provision, working with people affected by addiction and mental health difficulties. Through safe accommodation, peer support and genuine human connection, we help people build confidence, independence and hope.
We're experts by experience — we understand when others don't. Our work is challenging, emotional, rewarding and occasionally chaotic. This is an environment where you'll need to be resilient, authentic and comfortable working in a setting where humour, honesty and genuine human connection play an important role in recovery.
About the role
You’ll lead our supported housing service with compassion, consistency and accountability. This is a hands-on management role in a supportive, recovery-focused organisation where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.
You'll oversee our 17-bed supported housing service across five properties in Telford, supporting residents affected by addiction, mental health difficulties, trauma and other complex social needs. Alongside managing a small team of Housing Workers, you'll take responsibility for tenancy sustainment, occupancy, referrals, rent collection, Housing Benefit processes, housing compliance, repairs and partnership working.
We're looking for someone who can balance empathy with accountability, build positive relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries, and support both residents and staff to achieve positive outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Managing the day-to-day operation of TACT's supported housing service
- Leading and supporting a team of Housing Workers and volunteers
- Overseeing referrals, assessments, sign-ups and move-on planning
- Supporting residents to sustain tenancies, maximise income and achieve recovery goals
- Managing occupancy, voids, rent accounts and Housing Benefit processes
- Monitoring housing compliance, repairs, maintenance and property standards
- Managing licence agreements, warnings, notices and tenancy enforcement processes where required
- Responding to safeguarding concerns, incidents and complex resident situations
- Working closely with Y Housing, local authorities, treatment providers and partner agencies
- Producing reports, performance information and service data to support continuous improvement
If you have these essential skills:
- Experience supporting people affected by addiction, mental health difficulties, trauma or other complex social needs
- Relevant Level 4 Housing qualification or be willing and able to commence the qualification by October 2026 (funded by TACT)
- Experience of housing-related support, tenancy sustainment or supported accommodation services
- Experience supervising, coordinating or line managing staff, volunteers or placements
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries
- Ability to remain calm, resilient and professional when managing challenging situations
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to build genuine, trusting relationships whilst maintaining accountability and boundaries
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
- Ability to manage and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
...we'd love to hear from you. You don't need to tick every box. If you think you have the right values, skills and experience, we'd encourage you to apply.
We'd love it you also have:
- Relevant lived experience of addiction recovery, mental health difficulties or other complex social needs
- Other housing, health and social care or similar qualifications or training
- Experience within supported housing, homelessness or recovery services
- Leadership, management or coaching qualifications
- Knowledge of peer support, recovery communities or the voluntary sector
