Full job description

Ace Support UK is seeking a proactive and highly motivated Placement Officer with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working within a fast-paced, child-focused environment. The successful candidate will deliver outstanding customer service when liaising with local authority commissioning teams and foster carers, ensuring that all referrals for children requiring foster placements are responded to promptly and efficiently. A strong commitment to securing safe, suitable placements is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage incoming referrals for children requiring foster placements — reading, analysing, gathering additional information, and assessing needs and risks to ensure safe and appropriate matches.
Liaise with professionals to ensure each child is matched with carers capable of meeting their needs while maximising placement success for all parties.
Promote available placements and additional services, actively seek new business opportunities, and generate leads.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, internal staff and foster carers, positively influencing decisions.
Conduct financial negotiations with commissioning teams.
Handle I.T. data entry, diary management and general administrative duties.
Produce weekly and/or monthly reports.
Follow up on open referrals to progress outcomes.
Proactively promote Ace Support UK to local authority clients.

About you:

Confident, organised and self-motivated, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
Resilient with a positive “can-do” attitude and the ability to thrive under pressure in a high-paced environment.
Exceptional telephone manner, with strong empathy and understanding.
Previous sales or business development experience is advantageous — this role is not about hard selling, but about professional relationship building and positioning Ace Support UK as the provider of choice.
Able to work towards KPI targets aligned with the agency’s strategic growth vision.
Strong administrative, IT and data entry skills are essential.
Experience within fostering, social care, recruitment or a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
Flexibility to occasionally work beyond core office hours when service demands required.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
