Full job description

Job role: Part Time Mechanic / Handyman

Location: Base - Yarnfield, Stone.

Salary: £30,000 D.O.E. Pro rata.

Transport: Full driving license preferred, trailer licence advantageous

Hours of work: Full-Time 6.55am start

Experience: A proven record of carrying out small tool mechanics, having a minimum of a basic knowledge in petrol, diesel and electrics. Small tool mechanics would include machinery and tools from ground care, a horticultural background, construction and forestry. You must be able to work to a high standard and have a passion for garden machinery and tool repairs.

The role:

We are pleased that due to continued demand for our services we are looking for a Mechanic / Handyman to become an integral part of our team. You will be required to carry out tasks such as fault finding, general servicing and repairs as well as routine maintenance and customer service.

Ideally the candidate will have previous experience however you will be trained with the aim of becoming the 'go to' person when competent. The successful candidate may be required to work onsite on occasion supporting either the gardeners or landscapers or even supporting with adhoc duties.

About you:

Positive attitude and an aptitude for learning.
Mechanical experience, in a similar background would be advantageous.
Full driving licence, ideally with a trailer licence.
Enjoy working outside in all weathers as required.
Be physically fit.
Personally motivated.
Ability to work alone as required, for example in a workshop setting.
Good motivational skills.
Able to work to deadlines.
Work to a high standard with a keen eye for detail, showing care and thought in all you do.
Effective communication skills with other members of the team.
Have basic computer skills, for example to search for parts, update spreadsheets etc.
A good knowledge of Health and Safety with respects to mechanics, gardening and landscaping.
Look for opportunities to increase knowledge.
Always look for ways to exceed a customers expectations.
Treat others how you would like to be treated.
