Full job description

We are looking for a hands-on Lab Technician to support quality control and process monitoring in our electroplating and chemical finishing operation. You will be responsible for bath analysis, pH monitoring, quality testing, and keeping accurate records to ensure our plating lines consistently meet specification.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and test chemical bath parameters including pH, zinc concentration, and additive levels• Calibrate and maintain lab instruments including pH meters (two-point buffer calibration)• Perform quality inspections on plated parts — appearance, adhesion, and coating thickness• Conduct and interpret salt spray testing for corrosion performance• Make bath additions and adjustments based on test results• Maintain accurate calibration logs, batch records, and process documentation• Identify out-of-spec conditions and raise non-conformances as required• Handle chemicals safely in accordance with SDS requirements and site safety procedures

What We're Looking For

Practical knowledge of pH testing, wet chemistry analysis, and bath control• Familiarity with quality documentation and controlled process procedures• Comfortable working with acids and process chemicals with appropriate PPE• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping habits• A relevant technical qualification (Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or similar) is preferred but not essential — hands-on experience counts

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: From £12.21 per hour
