Job Overview
About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Programmer with strong experience in CAD design and SolidWorks to join our team. This role focuses on the development and programming of precision-engineered assemblies, particularly within security and caging systems. You will play a key role in translating technical requirements into accurate, functional designs and programs that support manufacturing and installation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design and develop detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD and SolidWorks

· Create and manage complex assemblies, produce technical drawings, specifications, BOMs and production ready documentation

· Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility

· Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure components and assemblies are cost-effective, practical to produce, and efficient to install

· Optimize designs for efficiency, durability, and compliance with safety standards

· Modify and improve existing designs based on project requirements

Requirements:

· Proven experience as a Technical Programmer, CAD Designer, or similar role

· Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software

· Hands-on experience working with assemblies, preferably in security or caging systems

· Solid understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes

· Good understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM), fabrication methods, and practical assembly techniques

· High attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills:

· Experience designing fabricated steelwork, sheet metal, or modular structural assemblies

· Knowledge of industry standards for security installations

· Familiarity with CNC programming or automation processes

· Experience with DriveWorks

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £32,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
