This is a full-time, permanent role paying £13.75 per hour. You will help coordinate daily delivery and collection routes, check driver progress throughout the day, deal with route issues, complete transport paperwork, and support driver attendance, timekeeping, and working standards.
We are looking for someone with experience in transport, logistics, driving, distribution, or operational coordination. You do not need to have been a Transport Manager, but you should be confident giving clear instructions, keeping accurate records, communicating with drivers and internal teams, and staying calm when plans change.
This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with drivers, production, customer services, and management to keep deliveries and collections running smoothly.

Role Purpose
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day transport activity and supporting the driver team to ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
The role includes coordinating daily routes, checking driver progress throughout the day, dealing with route issues, completing transport paperwork, and monitoring driver attendance, timekeeping, and basic standards.
This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring good organisation, clear communication, and the ability to respond calmly to day-to-day transport issues.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Transport Coordination
- Coordinate daily delivery and collection routes in line with operational requirements.
- Ensure drivers know their assigned routes, duties, and customer requirements.
- Check where drivers are throughout the day and monitor route progress.
- Respond to day-to-day transport issues, including delays, route changes, missed collections, customer queries, or driver concerns.
- Liaise with Production, Customer Services, and Operations where transport issues may affect customers or site operations.
- Escalate significant delays, customer complaints, staffing issues, or vehicle concerns to the relevant manager.
- Support the smooth handover of transport information between shifts or departments where required.
Driver Supervision
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to the driver team.
- Monitor driver attendance, timekeeping, conduct, and general working standards.
- Ensure drivers report for work on time and are prepared for their routes.
- Address minor day-to-day issues with drivers in a fair, professional, and consistent manner.
- Escalate repeated concerns or serious issues to the relevant manager or HR where appropriate.
- Encourage drivers to follow company procedures and maintain professional standards with customers and colleagues.
- Support new drivers with basic route information, site expectations, and day-to-day processes.
Transport Administration and Paperwork
- Complete and maintain transport paperwork accurately and on time.
- Check route sheets, delivery notes, collection records, and other transport documentation as required.
- Record transport issues, route changes, missed collections, delays, or other relevant information.
- Ensure information is communicated clearly to the relevant departments.
- Keep accurate records relating to driver attendance, timekeeping, and daily transport activity.
- Support with general transport administration as needed.
Health, Safety and Standards
- Encourage drivers to follow safe working practices, including safe driving, manual handling, PPE, and site safety rules.
- Ensure drivers report vehicle issues, defects, incidents, or accidents promptly.
- Escalate vehicle defects, accidents, near misses, or health and safety concerns to the relevant manager.
- Promote a tidy, professional, and customer-focused approach within the transport team.
- Ensure company procedures are followed during daily transport operations.
Communication
- Act as a key point of contact for drivers during the working day.
- Communicate transport updates clearly to managers, drivers, Customer Services, and Production where required.
- Provide updates on delays, route issues, staffing concerns, or customer-impacting matters.
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach when communicating with drivers, colleagues, and customers.
- Ensure confidential employee, customer, and business information is handled appropriately.

- Previous experience in transport, logistics, distribution, driving, or operational coordination.
