Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle technician / MOT Tester to join our team.
MOT tester not essential The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform MOT tests on a range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with the DVSA standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any issues found.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Stay updated with the latest industry regulations and best practices related to vehicle testing.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily tasks.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with customers and team members.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle testing would be advantageous but not essential.
