The Charity is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers that can support with the administration of the Unit. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role. These tasks can also be divided between volunteers, so why not come along with a friend and share the experience?
About Sea Cadets
Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime youth charity, helping young people aged 9–18 build confidence, teamwork, and life skills through fun and adventurous activities. Volunteers support this work both directly and behind the scenes.
About the role
The tasks of an Administrative Assistant include but are not restricted to the following:
- Take care of general office administrative duties
- Assist with keeping the Sea Cadet database up to date with qualifications, courses, achievements and information on cadets and volunteers.
- Support the training officer with booking of internal cadet courses and arrange payments/transport when necessary.
- Liaison with parents of Cadets and support email communication between parents and volunteers
- Attend weekly parade evening or be able to commit to a particular night each week or month.
About you
Some administrative experience is desirable, although having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people is key. If you are interested in developing administrative and skills in a supportive volunteering environment alongside your studies, get in touch.
