The Opportunity
The Production Operations Manager is responsible for the visibility, coordination and operational consistency of Print Production across Intermission's film marketing campaigns. Working closely with Producers, Creative leadership and Finance, this role ensures projects are resourced effectively, workflows are followed consistently, priorities are clear and commercial discipline is maintained. The role acts as the operational backbone of the Print team, overseeing resource planning, freelancer management, workflow coordination and project administration to support the successful delivery of theatrical, streaming and entertainment marketing campaigns.
What you'll be doing...
Maintain a clear, accurate and current view and schedule for all live print projects, including ownership, resourcing and delivery status.
Own the day-to-day resource planning and workflow systems that enable efficient delivery across projects and regions, escalating capacity, commercial or staffing decisions where required.
Build strong working relationships across Print and with other departments, acting as a trusted point of coordination for producers, creatives and freelancers.
Plan, book, and manage freelance resource requirements, ensuring accurate scheduling and visibility across internal calendars.
Ensure production workflows are followed consistently, including clear kick-offs, defined ownership, internal review checkpoints and billing.
Responsibility over the lifecycle of a job within the studio including server management, project archiving, and storage.
Manage studio operations and equipment, driving efficiency and continuous improvement in tools and workflows.
Support producers to monitor project scope and flag changes to senior leadership in a timely and structured way.
Partner with the Managing Director, Creative and Strategy leads to ensure seamless integration between creative and production.
Contribute to continuous improvement of production workflows and tools, ensuring systems are used effectively and consistently rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.
Support senior Production leadership with reporting and operational insights that inform decision-making.
Act as a steady, senior presence during peak campaign periods, helping to maintain structure and clarity under pressure.
Drive profitability and improve margins by closely monitoring cost control, rate cards, and forecasting across all production outputs. Ensure the production team invoices promptly, that projects are accurately costed, and that they consistently deliver strong financial performance in alignment with the department’s forecast.
Partner with Finance to support accurate time capture, billing inputs and commercial visibility across projects.
Develop and implement consistent processes for budgeting, reconciliation, and project reporting.
Work closely with production and project management teams across the business to support the efficient delivery of high-quality film marketing campaigns.
What you'll bring...
Significant experience (typically 4-6+ years) within production, post-production or production operations in a film marketing agency, key art studio, trailer house or film industry campaign production environment.
Strong understanding of film marketing campaign workflows, including key art production, adaptation, localisation, approvals and delivery processes.
Commercial awareness and confidence partnering with Finance and senior stakeholders.
A proactive, organised and detail-focused working style, with the ability to balance big-picture visibility and day-to-day operational detail.
Confidence to raise capacity, workflow or commercial risks constructively with senior leadership.
Strong experience in resourcing operations and freelancer management.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across creative, production and finance disciplines.
Comfort operating within a matrix organisation and supporting multiple stakeholders simultaneously, in a fast paced, global environment.
