We have a wonderful opportunity for a Nursery Apprentice to join our team here at Enchanted Nursery Ltd Alton. You will train on the job in partnership with the local college as part of the Government Apprenticeship scheme. Following your Apprenticeship training you would have gained a full Early Years Educator Qualification at level 3. Whilst working full time as part of our busy nursery team, you will be getting hands on experience working with children aged 3 months to 4 years. You will work in partnership with parents, and as part of the Nursery, to maintain a fun, safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children, which provides a variety of opportunities to learn through both adult led and child initiated activities.
You would work a 40 hour week with an hours lunch break each day and one 8 hour day per week would be for training. You would benefit from 28 days annual leave bank holidays included as the nursery is closed, plus your birthday. All training is strongly supported and assessors would visit you in the setting monthly to complete your childcare qualification. You would be involved in everything in the setting, from planning and assessing children's development to organising rooms and activities. You would be learning from the very best early years educators, some with over 25 years experience. All apprentices are appreciated in our nursery and employment would not end when training is completed.
Main duties
- Working as part of a team in providing high standards of care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs within different times/routines in the day.
- Plan or assist in planning an appropriate stimulating learning environment to meet children’s needs which is age appropriate and fun.
- Provide extended periods of purposeful outdoor play and supervising children’s outings.
- To act as a key worker for a group of children (only if applicable within training - level 3).
- Sharing information with Parents at the end of each session, giving comprehensive feedback on their child’s day.
- Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
- Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Enchanted Nursery Ltd and compliance with the Children’s Act, Health & Safety Legislation and working within the standards of Ofsted / Hampshire County Council.
