Overview
SB Joinery is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented IT & Document Control Assistant to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role split between providing first-line IT support across the business and assisting the CAD & Projects team with document control administration. The successful candidate will be organised, technically minded, and comfortable working across different systems and teams.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support
- Provide first-line IT helpdesk support to staff across the business, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Set up, configure, and maintain end-user devices including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Support day-to-day administration of IT systems including email, shared drives, and cloud services and software
- Assist with network troubleshooting and liaising with third-party suppliers and ISPs where needed
- Help maintain the IT asset register and support IT asset management processes
- Escalate complex issues to the IT Manager and assist with second-line investigations where appropriate
- Support the rollout of IT projects, including software deployments and infrastructure changes
- Assist with basic Linux/Unix server administration tasks as required
- Assisting with phone system administration
Document Control
- Upload and manage CAD drawings and project documents across platforms including Procore, SharePoint, and other project management tools
- Ensure all documents are filed in the correct folder locations and comply with SBJ naming conventions and standards
- Carry out document revision checks and flag any non-compliance to the CAD Manager
- Liaise with the CAD and Projects team to ensure documents are issued and received correctly
- Assist with general administrative tasks within the CAD & Projects department as required
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, or a strong demonstrable interest in IT
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail — particularly important for document control tasks
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Good communication skills and a professional, helpful manner
- Comfortable working independently and using initiative
- Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, or a strong demonstrable interest in IT

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
