Newmarket Open Door is looking for a Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator to help strengthen our connections across the local community, raise awareness of our work and develop meaningful partnerships that support homeless young adults aged 18-24 and those in need.
About Us
Newmarket Open Door is a local charity providing supported accommodation, practical support and opportunities for homeless young adults aged 18-24 and those in need. We are committed to helping people build brighter futures through support, stability and community.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become the public face of Newmarket Open Door within the community.
You will work with local businesses, schools, colleges, community groups, faith organisations and other stakeholders to increase awareness of our work, develop partnerships and support community engagement activities.
You will help organise events, awareness campaigns and projects that strengthen our presence within the community and support the charity's wider objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver community engagement activities.
- Build relationships with local businesses, schools, colleges and community groups.
- Identify opportunities for partnership working and community collaboration.
- Coordinate community events, awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives.
- Attend networking events and community meetings on behalf of the charity.
- Develop relationships with supporters, donors and local organisations.
- Promote a positive image of Newmarket Open Door within the local community.
- Support the delivery of Volunteers Week, Homelessness Week and other community initiatives.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and confident.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable people and strengthening communities.
- Able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
- Organised and able to manage their own workload.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Previous experience in community engagement, partnership working, events, housing, youth work, customer engagement, charity work or community development would be beneficial but is not essential.
