Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the organisation’s procurement functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our accounts payable processes. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational abilities, proficiency in relevant accounting software, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

Processing and verifying supplier invoices using accounting software such as Sage.
Reconciling purchase orders with invoices and ensuring accuracy before authorisation for payment
Maintaining organised records of all transactions related to accounts payable
Assisting with data entry tasks related to procurement and financial documentation
Analysing invoice discrepancies and liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues promptly
Supporting month-end closing procedures by preparing relevant reports and documentation
Managing supplier account queries and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding payments
Collaborating with human resources and finance teams to ensure compliance with organisational policies

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage.
Experience working with Workday or HRIS platforms is desirable
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
Familiarity with human resources functions related to procurement and financial administration
Organised approach to workload management with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good communication skills for liaising across departments and with suppliers
